About
Welcome to Musoshin Ramen, a hidden gem located in the heart of Toronto at 9 Boustead Ave. With a reputation solidified through a consistent spot on the Michelin list, this ramen shop is not to be overlooked. Whether you're warming up during the chilly winter months or simply indulging in a hearty bowl of noodles, Musoshin Ramen promises a delightful culinary experience that goes beyond mere sustenance.
At the core of Musoshin's allure is its rich and savory broth. Each bowl reflects meticulous preparation, simmered to perfection to create a comforting yet flavorful base that envelops the house-made noodles. Diners rave about the balance of flavors, where the essence of chicken, pork, and a medley of vegetables harmonize beautifully. The texture of the noodles—and the way they soak up the broth—creates a perfect harmony that leaves you craving more with each slurp.
For toppings, the deliciously tender chashu melts in your mouth, complemented by the crispy and juicy karaage that elevates the dish. Although some may find certain meats a bit tougher, the overall experience is nothing short of spectacular, as noted by patrons who appreciate the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, making every visit feel personal and warm.
Beyond the ramen, Musoshin Ramen also features a selection of delightful desserts. The Matcha Affogato and Hojicha Affogato, for example, offer a unique twist on traditional sweets, perfectly concluding your meal with a burst of flavor. Add to that their impressive assortment of premium teas, and you have a dining destination that transcends the typical ramen experience.
While it may have limited seating, expect vibrant energy and a wait during peak hours—an indicator of its popularity. The combination of friendly service, outstanding food quality, and a warm ambiance creates a robust and inviting dining atmosphere. Musoshin Ramen is truly a treasure for any ramen enthusiast or simply someone in search of a comforting meal. Don’t just take my word for it; let your taste buds guide you to this delectable experience.
“ During the cold winter months nothing hits the spot like a bowl of hot ramen and Musoahin is one of the best in the city. They have been on the Michelin list for a few years and it’s for a good reason. The ramen is tasty without being too greasy or salty which happens often with lesser ramen spots. The desert items were also delicious as was their selection of beer. Also unlike a lot of these places the staff won’t yell random Japanese phrases when you enter, no need to pretend they are Japanese as by speaking you can tell they are authentic. Great place that should definitely be on anyone’s ramen to try list. ”
“ This little ramen gem delivers big on flavor. The broth is absolutely stellar—rich, savory, and clearly simmered with care. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience feel cozy and personal. Seating is limited, so expect a bit of a wait during peak hours, but it’s absolutely worth it. 4.7/5 ”
“ Got their special ramen for lunch. Their karaage and pork belly were the topping highlight. The broth was thick, but tasted fabulous. The beef tenderloin, not my taste, found it quite tough. Service and place itself was amazing! ”
“ I ordered the Special Musoahin Ramen so to have a bit of Karage, chashu and beef. The soup is thick and savoury with good balance of chicken, pork and vegetables flavour. I really love the soup-soaked noodles. The house-made noodle makes every slurp a perfect balance. Broth meets bite in the most delicious way. The chashu melts in my mouth with a smokiness after taste. The beef is a bit overcooked to me while the karage is crispy and juicy. Although the portion is small, it is good for the ladies. So far the best ramen in town! ”
“ Musoshin is an understated ramen shop in the downtown's west end. The atmosphere is super cozy - great for getting lunch with a friend. While the restaurant is small, it is not to be underestimated - it's recommended by Michelin, and for good reason. The server was friendly and the food came quickly. The karaage was standard, but the ramen was outstanding. I ordered extra chashu as I usually do at a ramen place to supplement the normal toppings, but the flavour packed broth and amazing noodle texture meant I had no issue finishing the bowl. I also enjoyed the shokupan I brought home :) ”
“ Musoshin is one of the best ramen places in Toronto! I’ve been here a few times and always eat every last drop (including the broth) as you can see by the empty bowl in the third picture. I really like how you can add karaage or beef to your ramen. For dessert, both the kinako ice cream and matcha affogato are amazing. It’s nice to enjoy ramen on their patio too in nice weather! ”
“ Musoshin Ramen is simply outstanding. I honestly don’t understand the negative reviews about the service — every time I visit, it’s professional, friendly, and welcoming. But the real star here is the ramen. It’s hands down the best I’ve ever had — even compared to places I visited in Tokyo and Kyoto! Not surprising, considering the owner is from Japan. If you’re looking for truly authentic Japanese ramen, this is the place to go. Highly recommend trying the Special Musoshin Ramen — it’s an unforgettable experience! ”
“ This is a very solid ramen joint in Roncy. Broth is thick and tasty. The special has so many topping flavours. That tenderloin is yum! Pork belly thick and flamed. Egg is slightly jammy. Noods are solid. ”
